Since our inception in 1980 we have evolved with the ever changing tourism environment to ensure that we always surpass our guests’ expectations in every way. The major form of accepted transport, particularly in Kenya was and still is the Minivan. The capital cost to purchase and build a state of the art Safari (Land) Cruiser is prohibitive and a major deterrent to most tour companies. However, we are different! We felt our guests deserved a much better vehicle to drive around in when travelling over some very difficult roads and especially during game viewing drives.
Our belief is the Safari (Land) Cruiser is the best choice over the minivan and cost was, therefore, irrelevant in our decision to replace our entire fleet of minivans to Safari (Land) Cruisers. Presently, we own and maintain a large fleet of state of the art Safari (Land) Cruisers that are less than 3 years old.Â
- EXTENDED LAND CRUISERS
We only operate the extended (long) version of the Land Cruisers in both Kenya and Tanzania irrespective of the number of guests using the Cruiser meaning even if we have two guests we will still provide the extended (Long) Land Cruiser as opposed to many tour companies who use the standard (shorter) version to save on capital expenditure and maintenance costs. Twiga Tours does NOT consider this as a saving but rather as short changing the guest and providing a poor quality service. - NUMBER OF GUESTS PER VEHICLE:
We restrict a maximum of 6 guests to a vehicle so that every guest has a window seat and has ample room without anyone sitting beside each other. - DRINKS:
Each vehicle in Kenya and Tanzania are equipped with either a fridge or cooler chest to keep the guests’ favourite drinks refreshingly cold! We do not limit our guests to one litre of bottled water per person per day but allow unlimited bottled water and, should our guests’ so desire, will provide their favourite beers and soft drinks too at no additional cost! - BINOCULARS:Â
Each vehicle carries between 4-6 Minolta 10X50 high definition binoculars for the use by guests so they can get real close to the wildlife and have much more focused and beautiful view of wildlife that may be at a distance. - WiFi CONNECTIVITY:Â
All our vehicles in Kenya and Tanzania are eqquipped with WiFi facility which is offered as an added service to those who may wish to use it and this is offered at no additional cost. - BEAN BAGS:
Upon request we will provide bean bags in the vehicle for ardent photographers carrying large camera lenses - PICNIC MEALS:Â
Twiga Tours will NOT accept any box meals other than a hamper…it is a simple but delicious meal as opposed to a boxed meal that is usually a soggy sandwich, a piece of chicken and a piece of fruit. This is NOT acceptable to us and, hence, we pay an additional supplement to secure a delicious hamper. In addition, we find a nice secluded site so our guests enjoy a private bush meal rather than with countless other tourists as is evident particularly in Ngorongoro! - BRANDING:
We encourage our partner company to brand the Land Cruisers with their company name so that they get maximum exposure and, hence, increase their business especially from those who booked through other companies but didn’t receive the VVVIP Service that Twiga Tours provides!
